Songs to transport you back to the beach

Summer is very nearly here, which means it’s time to start thinking about your next holiday soaking up the sun home or abroad. If you still have a few weeks at work to get through before you jet off, here are some great summery songs to get you through the days.

Coldplay – Adventure of a Lifetime

Coldplay have definitely evolved over the years, and their music has (thankfully) become more upbeat. Many of their newer songs have a summery feel, but this one has the ultimate summertime feel to it. It will make you want to throw your windows right open and let the summer air in!

Are You with Me – Lost Frequencies

Maybe it’s the references to Mexico, but this song makes us instantly think of being on the beach, margarita in hand. It’s a little less poppy than some of the songs on this list and it’s definitely worth a listen if you want to be transported back to your last summer holiday.

Malibu – Miley Cyrus

How could a song about the beach not take you back? Miley’s changed her style, and we definitely think it’s an improvement! Even if it’s not your usual sound, Malibu such a sweet song, perfect to see you through the summer months and remind you of the beach, even when you’re stuck in the office.

Play That Song – Train

You can’t listen to this song without smiling. It’s upbeat, happy, and the perfect song the summer. It makes us want to grab our nearest and dearest and head read back to the beach, to play in the sand and listen to it on repeat.

West Coast – Lana Del Rey

Lana is known for her melancholy style, but West Coast has a sultry, summery vibe that will take you right back to nights on the beach. Once again, there’s even the occasional line in Spanish – which only adds to the summertime feeling.

Sweet Disposition – The Temper Trap

The composition of Sweet Disposition will just make you feel warm inside, and it will take you right back to your last summer filled holiday. It’s upbeat and anthemic, and definitely a song to listen to when you’re looking for the sun.

What’s your favourite summer songs? We’re always looking for new recommendations, so make sure to share them in the comments!
